Richardson County Jail Roster
The official Richardson County Current Inmates page is the first stop for current Richardson County inmate records. It is a free public page from the Richardson County Jail. It lists people currently held at the jail, including pre-trial detainees, post-trial inmates, court commitments, and people held for other agencies. The roster also states limits that matter: juvenile offenders and DHS or ICE administrative detainees are not shown, and the page is informational rather than an official record.
Because the roster is a current list, it works best for a person who may be in the Richardson County Jail now. It does not provide a separate archive, release-history search, old booking search, or downloadable index. If a new booking is missing, court information may still be pending or the entry may not have been updated yet. If a person has been sentenced to state prison, the correct lookup shifts to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services inmate search, not the county page.
The sheriff's roster screenshot in the image manifest is drawn from the official current-inmates source at Richardson County Current Inmates.
The card-style roster is why Richardson County inmate records should be reviewed entry by entry instead of treated like a search-engine result page.
Use Richardson County Roster
The Richardson County roster has no visible search box, dropdown, tab, reset button, advanced filter, pagination, or export button. That changes the practical steps. A reader should open the roster, scan the visible cards, and use browser Find for a name. If the name is not present, the next step is not a second county portal. It is the jail information line or a records request when a past booking or official copy is needed.
- Open the current-inmates page from the Richardson County Sheriff's Office.
- Use the browser Find command for the last name, or scroll through the roster cards if the spelling is uncertain.
- Match the name with the age, sex, race, arresting agency, admission date, and charge text before relying on the entry.
- Read the bond amount or outdate field carefully because it may show a dollar amount, a ten percent bond, a court hold, a warrant amount, or a scheduled outdate.
- Call the jail at 402-245-3599 when the entry is missing, unclear, recent, or linked to bond or release questions.
- Use the NDCS, BOP, ICE, or NEVCAP systems only when the facts point outside current Richardson County Jail custody.
Richardson County Roster Fields
Since Richardson County does not publish a true search form, the most useful roster-field table is the list of visible card fields. These fields are displayed, not entered. There is no required field because there is no form to submit. Treat the table as a checklist for confirming that the right person has been found and for deciding when to contact the jail for more detail.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking number / roster ID | Displayed heading | n/a | Numeric value at the top of the roster card. |
| Name | Displayed text | n/a | Shown in last, first, middle or initial format. |
| Charge(s) | Displayed text | n/a | May include warrants, court commitments, holds, or multiple charges. |
| Age, sex, race | Displayed values | n/a | Age is public; date of birth is not shown. |
| Bond Amount/Outdate | Displayed text | n/a | May show bond, ten percent amount, hold for court, warrant amount, or an outdate. |
| Arresting Agency | Displayed text | n/a | Examples include the sheriff's office and Falls City Police Department. |
| Admission Date | Displayed date | n/a | Shows the date admitted to Richardson County Jail. |
| Booking photo/image | Image link | n/a | Many entries include a booking-photo image or image placeholder. |
Richardson County Inmate Profile
A Richardson County inmate profile is compact. It is designed for current custody notice, not a complete criminal case file. The roster charge field may reflect an arrest, warrant, court commitment, or hold before the County Attorney files or amends formal charges. Court records after booking can differ from the roster text, so charge status and case outcome belong in court records rather than in the jail card alone. For that path, the related court process is covered on the Richardson County court records after jail arrest page.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking/roster ID | Numeric public identifier at the top of the entry. |
| Name | Inmate name in last, first, middle or initial format. |
| Charge(s) | Arrest, warrant, hold, or court-commitment wording, not always the final court charge. |
| Age | Age only; date of birth is not displayed. |
| Sex and race | Single-letter public values shown on the roster. |
| Bond Amount/Outdate | Bond, ten percent deposit amount, hold status, warrant amount, or outdate. |
| Arresting Agency | The agency that arrested, booked, or lodged the person. |
| Admission Date | Date admitted to Richardson County Jail. |
| Mugshot/image | Public booking-photo link or image for many current entries. |
Richardson County does not show date of birth, height, weight, hair color, eye color, housing unit, pod, warrant number, court case number, judge, or per-charge statute fields on the public jail roster. If those details are needed, the public-record request should name the record sought, the date range, the person's name, and whether the request includes a booking photo or booking sheet.
Richardson County Jail Contact
The jail phone line is part of the access chain, not a last resort. It is the best contact point when the roster lags, a person was booked very recently, a bond entry says hold for court, or the person may be excluded from the public list. The county official sheriff office page identifies Sheriff Richard Hardesty Jr. at the Law Enforcement Center. Public counter tasks should use the sheriff lobby hours, while custody questions should start with the jail number before a trip to the Law Enforcement Center.

Richardson County Booking Records
Richardson County does not publish a detailed booking manual. The published facts still show the basic flow. A person may be arrested by the sheriff, Falls City Police, or another agency, then brought to Richardson County Jail for intake. Intake can include identification, property handling, booking photo, fingerprints where required, charge or warrant entry, medical and safety screening, classification, and housing assignment under Nebraska jail standards.
The roster may appear before formal court charges are complete. That is why the sheriff's notice warns that court information may be pending or filed later. A roster charge is a custody label at that point. It is not the same as a conviction, and it may not match the later complaint, information, amended charge, dismissal, or sentence in County Court or District Court. Bond wording can also change after first appearance.
- Booking
- Jail intake after arrest, including identity and custody entry.
- Detainer
- A hold for another agency that may affect release.
- PR bond
- A personal recognizance release promise without a cash deposit.
- Court commitment
- Jail custody ordered by a court.
Richardson County Visitation
Visitation is handled under the local jail rules on the Richardson County jail information page. The rules distinguish onsite visits from online visits. Onsite visits must be scheduled in advance at the sheriff office kiosk or through InmateSales. Online visits are available more broadly, but the same eligibility concerns can still matter. People on probation, parole, or with active warrants are not allowed to visit.
| Visit type | Schedule | Scheduling | ID / eligibility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Onsite jail visitation | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., excluding holidays | Schedule 24 hours in advance at the sheriff office kiosk or InmateSales.com | Valid photo ID; visitors must be 18 or with an adult. |
| Online visitation | Seven days a week, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. | Schedule through InmateSales.com | Same visitor eligibility rules apply. |
| Attorney visits | Not published in the local source | Call the jail | Do not assume public visitation hours apply. |

The same source covers visitation, phone accounts, chirping funds, commissary timing, money deposits, and limits on outside items.
Richardson County Custody Chain
Richardson County inmate records can move across systems. A local arrest starts in the county jail roster. A state-prison sentence moves the person to NDCS. A federal sentence uses BOP. Federal pretrial custody may involve the U.S. Marshals District of Nebraska, which does not publish a county-style roster. ICE custody uses ICE ODLS, and the Richardson County roster expressly excludes DHS and ICE administrative detainees.
| Custody type | Where to look | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Current county jail custody | Richardson County Current Inmates | People currently held at Richardson County Jail. |
| Jail phone / in person | 402-245-3599 or sheriff lobby | Recent bookings, unclear roster entries, and custody-specific questions. |
| Public records | Sheriff's office under Nebraska public-records law | Booking records, mugshots, incident records, or historical material when releasable. |
| Victim alerts | NEVCAP offender search | Nebraska custody and release notification where available. |
| State prison | NDCS inmate search | Sentenced Nebraska Department of Correctional Services prisoners. |
| Federal prison | BOP inmate locator | Sentenced federal inmates from 1982 to present. |
| Immigration custody | ICE ODLS | People in ICE custody or recently in CBP custody more than 48 hours. |
No sheriff app found: Richardson County research did not locate an official sheriff mobile app for roster searching, warrants, or inmate alerts. NEVCAP is the documented alert channel.
County State Federal Records
The county roster, NDCS search, BOP locator, and ICE ODLS answer different questions. They should not be treated as duplicate databases. A current Richardson County Jail entry can disappear when a person is released, transferred, or moved to another legal status. NDCS will not show a county detainee who has not been sentenced to Nebraska state prison. BOP will not show a state inmate. ICE ODLS is not a mugshot or local booking database.
The NDCS locator screenshot in the manifest comes from the official NDCS incarceration records search.
Use the NDCS form when the Richardson County case has moved from local jail custody to a state-prison sentence.
| System | Best use | Main limits |
|---|---|---|
| Richardson County roster | Current county jail inmate records and booking-card details. | No search form, no public archive, no juvenile or DHS/ICE administrative detainee entries. |
| NDCS | Sentenced Nebraska prison records by last name or DCS ID. | Not a county jail roster; includes accuracy disclaimers. |
| BOP | Sentenced federal inmates from 1982 to present. | Does not cover local county detainees or publish a county booking card. |
| ICE ODLS | Immigration detention lookup by A-number or identity fields. | Not a Richardson County roster and not a mugshot gallery. |
Note: Confirm custody before sending money, scheduling visits, or relying on a bond line because transfer and release status can change quickly.
Money Mail Phone Rules
Richardson County publishes practical jail-service rules, but not a full mail policy. Funds can be placed on an inmate's books at the sheriff office kiosk or through JailATM. Inmate phone service and chirping funds use InmateSales through Combined Public Communications. The jail says chirping funds cannot be transferred from an inmate's regular account. Commissary orders must be in by Tuesday at 6:00 a.m., with holiday exceptions.
| Service | Vendor or location | Hours or deadline | Fees / limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inmate books/funds | Sheriff office kiosk or JailATM.com | Seven days a week, 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. | Online fee is $3.25 or 10 percent, whichever is higher; weekly online limit is $300. |
| Kiosk deposits | Sheriff office kiosk | Seven days a week, 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. | Cash fee is $3.25; card fee is $3.25 or 10 percent, whichever is higher. |
| Commissary | Jail commissary process | Orders due Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. | Jail advises against online care packs because wait time is unknown. |
| Phone and chirping | Combined Public Communications through InmateSales.com | Specific phone hours not located | Chirping funds must be deposited separately. |
The jail does not allow outside items except approved religious items and prescribed medication in the original container. A full mail address format, book rule, postcard rule, or mail-scanning policy was not located in the official local source. Call 402-245-3599 before mailing anything beyond a standard letter.
